Application note: Precise In-Line Analysis of Alcohol Mixtures with Fiber Optic Probes

What is the real cost of an off-spec batch? In many chemical processes, the precise ratio of components like methanol and ethanol can be the difference between profit and loss. Relying on slow, manual lab sampling means you are often reacting to problems long after they occur, rather than preventing them. This is where direct, […]

Application Note: Comparing Compact NIR Spectrometers for Polymer Identification

How do you ensure rapid and reliable polymer identification in your process? Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is a powerful, non-destructive technology for quality control, recycling, and in-line monitoring. But with various compact spectrometers on the market, choosing the right one for your specific setup is critical. Our new application note offers a direct performance comparison, using […]

Chalcogenide Mid-IR Fibers

Categories: , Tag:

Main features:

  • High transmittance in the range 1.1 – 6.5 μm
  • Low optical losses of about 0.2 – 0.3 dB/m at 2.5 – 4 µm and 4.5 – 5 µm
  • Core/Clad structure with core diameters span from 8 to 340 μm
  • Double polymer coating for high flexibility

For more information see data and downloads available below.

Description

Chalcogenide As-S glass fiber transmits IR-radiation in the spectral range of 1.1 – 6.5μm. High performance CIR core/clad fiber are drawn with core diameters span from 8µm to 340µm.

Advanced drawing process with double polymer jacket provides a superior mechanical strength and high flexibility of CIR- fibers.

Low optical losses and small absorption peaks over the mentioned spectral range ensure a successful use of CIR-fiber for a wide range of applications.
