Is your process spectrometer giving you the full picture? For engineers working in process control and Process Analytical Technology (PAT), the quality and reliability of real-time data are paramount. While the spectrometer itself is the core of the system, its performance often hinges on a component that can be easily overlooked: the optical fiber. The […]

In complex chemical analysis and biomedical diagnostics, relying on a single spectroscopic technique often results in a "blind spot." While Near-Infrared (NIR) offers speed, it frequently lacks specificity. Raman spectroscopy provides a precise molecular fingerprint but often battles fluorescence interference. Mid-IR offers excellent structural detail but is limited by shallow penetration depths. The Challenge: Spatial […]

Dear colleagues,
You are very welcome to visit our Booth 75C12 at German Pavilion during the 14th International Specialized Exhibition for Optical, Laser and Optoelectronic Technologies “Photonics. World of lasers and optics 2019” – the great event for the photonics industry, which will run on 4 – 7 March, 2019 in Moscow, Russia.
This year we will demonstrate:
– Silica Fiber Laser Cables & Bundles assembled with metal coated fibers and cool HP-connectors enable high laser power delivery in 0.3-2µm range with high beam quality and good heat dissipation up to 600°C.
– unique HP-PIR Fiber Cables enable very flexible power delivery of CO- & CO₂-lasers and can be used for any other IR-lasers (like QCL or OPO) as well. Silver Halide PIR-fibers are transparent from 4 to 16µm, non-brittle & non-toxic
– Fiber Probes FlexiSpec® can be well coupled to any spectrometer – FTIR, QCL, Raman, UV-Vis-NIR, or spectral sensor – to run biomedical diagnostics ex-vivo & in-vivo and process spectroscopy in-line for lab & industrial applications.

The MIRACLE project was recently presented at the International Conference on Bio Sensing and Imaging held at the Palazzo Affari Firenze Fiera in Florence, Italy, 17-19th of December by R&D Manager of art photonics GmbH Dr Olga Bibikova. Dr. Bibikova gave an invited talk entitled “Biomedical diagnostics with optical fibers — perspective solution for the common diseases”. In this talk the results on collaborative research of several MIRACLE partners such as art photonics GmbH, UULM (Ulm University, Institute of Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry) and UEF (University of Eastern Finland) were presented. Dr Bibikova highlighted the outcome of spectroscopic evaluation and preliminary data analysis of articular cartilage structure composition (human and equine) by mid-infrared and Raman spectroscopy. Obtained results will help to detail the requirements for the mid-infrared arthroscopy probe for early diagnosis of degenerative joint diseases.
